Published over 1 year ago • 2 min read
Hello, friend. I hope your summer is off to a fun start. We're finishing spring baseball, going to vacation Bible schools and summer sports camps, and prepping for an upcoming trip to Alabama. Have you been to Muscle Shoals?
Meanwhile, I've got big news to share! Two of my authors have published their books this year, and one of them is my dad! Below I share articles about working with each of them, a blog post about how I'm managing my kids' art and school papers, a freebie for your phone, a writing article to bookmark about adjectives, and a reading list for boys.

Discipleship in Coaching by Dan Ellis
Working with author Dan Ellis on Discipleship in Coaching was special. Not only because he’s my dad, but because he’s a talented writer and teacher. His coaching experience and knowledge of the Bible come together in a new book titled Discipleship in Coaching. It will be an enjoyable read for all who know him and a helpful resource for any Christian who wants to integrate biblical values in sports coaching.
After losing their firstborn daughter, God blessed Chrissy and Michael with another baby, but shortly after that, they discovered Chrissy had a brain tumor. She went into surgery, not knowing if she would wake up again. This part of her story is incredible because on top of that, she was dealing with clinical depression, a common symptom of her condition. But in Rainbows and Brainstorms, Chrissy quite literally captures every rebellious thought in her journal and makes them “obey Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5).
When my son started preschool, the papers he brought home started piling up. There’s this spot on my kitchen counter inside the door where mail and schoolwork quickly accumulate. A few years back, my sister-in-law and I were talking about it. She mentioned ordering a storage box from Artkive, a company that “transforms your piles of kid art into art books and framed mosaics.”

Did you see Aurora Borealis recently? I did not. If you did, reply and tell me about it.
We are planning to try out our new telescope in the backyard soon. I wish I were more attuned to the cycles of the sky. Summer nights are the best!
I love this verse from Daniel. The phrase "God of my ancestors" makes me think about Daniel's parents or whoever taught him to trust in the God of heaven. His story is so inspiring.
This is a helpful article to bookmark about using multiple adjectives to describe a noun. In what order should you list the adjectives and should they be separated by a comma or not? Take a look at the chart for a quick visual of the Royal Order of Adjectives. I've referred to it twice while writing this newsletter. Did I order the highlighted adjectives in the following section correctly?
My husband Kevin came across this amusing 2012 article on the Memoria Press blog about books for boys.
"It is now well-recognized that boys are not reading. What is the problem? Most commentators want to say that boys have an aversion to books. But the problem is quite the opposite: books—modern books, that is—have an aversion to boys."
At the end of the article is a list of classic adventure books in the general order they should be read. Summer reading ideas!

Happy Holidays! I wanted to share a few Black Friday deals I'm seeing and a little about my recent work as well. This fall, I enjoyed working with two organizations, a club and a nonprofit, to design a logo and brochure and proofread a couple of grant applications. Many of you are contributing to a cause, and that will be part of your legacy. I'm proud of you all and the work you are doing. You inspire me! In this newsletter, I - share tips on designing a logo and brochure for your...
Happy Fall, y'all (the South is rubbing off on me)! In this newsletter, I - reflect on Charlie Kirk's legacy, - share what we're doing weekly with our boys,- congratulate client Veronica Stone on her publishing deal,- recommend a podcast for writers, and- answer the question, "What is the best book you read this summer?" But first, I have to share these rainbow photos I took this year, because every time I see a rainbow, it reminds me that God is present. He's in control of all this chaos....
Hello, friend. It's hard to believe Mother's Day is this weekend, graduations are about to go down, and summer is around the corner. What are you looking forward to? We plan to host family from South Carolina over Memorial Day weekend and then go to the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter with them. It will be my boys' first time at both, so I'm looking forward to that. Have you been to either attraction? If so, reply and give me all the tips! Regarding tips, do you use Microsoft Word? I...
