Cyber Week Deals, Advent, Designing a Logo & Brochure, and Publisher Rocket

Happy Holidays! I wanted to share a few Black Friday deals I'm seeing and a little about my recent work as well.

This fall, I enjoyed working with two organizations, a club and a nonprofit, to design a logo and brochure and proofread a couple of grant applications.

Many of you are contributing to a cause, and that will be part of your legacy. I'm proud of you all and the work you are doing. You inspire me!

In this newsletter, I
- share tips on designing a logo and brochure for your organization,
- plug Publisher Rocket for authors who have published on Amazon,
- link to Advent resources, and
- pass along some Black Friday and Cyber Week savings.

Some are affiliate links. Most are not. All are products I use or recommend!

Designing a Logo and Brochure for Your Organization

Many of us are involved in nonprofit organizations or clubs that align with the talents and passions God has given us. If you’re tasked with managing your group’s presence in the community or designing a logo or handout from scratch, this post is for you.

Publisher Rocket Is On Sale through Dec. 2!

Have you ever wondered what keywords would perform best for your book? Or what categories you should choose for your book? Or how much your competitors are making with their book? If so, then I have the perfect tool for you. It was specifically created for authors who wish to sell more books and ebooks. And it's on sale!

Waiting Well during Advent

I love the wonder of Advent season. Did you know Advent marks the start of the liturgical year, beginning four Sundays before Christmas? The liturgical calendar is the Church’s way of organizing the year around the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

My sweet sister-in-law gave me a copy of Waiting Well: Advent with Fr. Mike Schmitz. Fr. Mike is one of my favorite Bible teachers, so I look forward to going through that. I like that each day's reflection expands on the daily readings. Here's a useful tip from the Preface about approaching prayer:

As you dedicate yourself to prayer this Advent, there is no better safeguard than a good plan. Every Sunday, look at your calendar and write out your plan for the next six days. Make the plan specific by answering the five W questions. When will I spend time with Jesus? Where will I spend time with Jesus? What are Jesus and I going to do together? Who will hold me accountable for my time with Jesus? Why am I prioritizing my time with Jesus?

We also plan to use these prayer cards when lighting Advent candles with the boys at home. They provide an opening prayer, candle instructions, Scripture, a closing prayer, and a song for each week of Advent. This will be a first for our family, so I need to decide on an Advent candleholder. I've got my eye on this one. I like that it has space for a white Christmas Day candle. Some only hold four candles.

The Hallow app has a good variety of Advent resources, including Christmas Music, Advent Music, Advent and Christmas Prayers, Bible Stories, and Kids' Advent & Christmas plans. I'm loving the Christmas Harp and Christmas Symphony playlists. Get 90 days of Hallow for $0.99 before Advent.

How will you observe Advent in your home this year? Reply and let me know. It's fun to mix it up from year to year, but some traditions are worth repeating.

Cyber Week Sales

CleanMyMac by MacPaw has been a lifesaver for me on more than one occasion. If your Mac is running short on space, clean up GBs of junk with this smart software. It's 100% worth the cost, but take advantage of their 30% sale right now, or if the sale is over, try using this link for 30% off (first come, first serve).

Over the summer, I tuned into several sessions of the 2025 Children's Book Mastery Summit hosted by Karen Ferreira. If you're thinking of writing a children's book, save 90% on her Ultimate Children's Book Bundle through December 2.

Every year I order Christmas cards, calendars, and miscellaneous gifts from Shutterfly. Today, take 50% of holiday cards and get 10 free cards using promo code CARDS or get 5 free gifts using promo BFGIFTS today, Nov 28.

Chatbooks is another service I've used for photo books. Use code TAKE50 for 50% off your first book or YAYBF30 for 30% off on Black Friday.

I'm praying for you. Please pray for me. May we all wait well!

Thanks for reading. I'm here for you and your passion projects.

Hello, friend. It's hard to believe Mother's Day is this weekend, graduations are about to go down, and summer is around the corner. What are you looking forward to?
