Easter Basket Ideas, Lent Goals, Photo Books, a Music Freebie, and Book Reviews

Hey, friend! Now that spring is dawning, I wanted to pop in and say hello. It's been a long winter for many of us. How are you? What are you working on now?

I've been busy volunteering with my kids' extracurriculars, presently Trail Life and chess club. Running club and baseball are about to kick off. I recently finished a photo book, which felt good. I'll share more about that below.

What I love most about helping people with their passion projects are the friendships that follow. I enjoy talking to you on the phone while we're working together and getting to know you. I always feel a little sad when a project is over, because I know we won't be talking as much. Please know that you remain in my thoughts and prayers. This newsletter is my way of staying in touch.

With that said, this issue is more personal than professional.

In this newsletter, I'm sharing
- Easter basket ideas,
- my Lent goals,
- where I order photo books,
- two children's books I recommend about creativity and heaven,
- and a BIG musical freebie for you.

Easter Basket Ideas

Are you ready for Easter? I'm about to place an order for basket stuffers. Our boys are six and eight this year. I found some good deals on Christianbook. Their prices are the best. I thought I would share what’s in my cart, plus a few items we already have and recommend.

Lent Goals

Right now, I'm going through Crux: A Lenten Journey of Surrender by Fr. Columba Jordan on the Ascension app. I'm loving his holistic approach to Lent, which balances the physical needs of our bodies with the spiritual needs of our souls. Each day, I'm challenged to read Scripture, exercise, fast, and pray a nightly examen.

The Faster Way program helps me exercise consistently, fast, and meal plan. I'm sharing this now because you can currently get $50 off a six-week trial using the code SAVE50. The next round starts tomorrow, March 9th. My coach Bailey is the best, and the timing is perfect for Lent and spring break!

Photo Books

I had some time in January to work on a passion project of my own—a 189 page family photo book of 2025. I used Chatbooks to make it. I like Chatbooks because the page layout is clean and there's an option to add the date, location, and a caption for each page. They keep it simple.

Always check their homepage for offers, but if you don't see a better one, use this link (same as above) for $15 off your first order. It felt good to get this done! Most of my childhood memories stem from family photo albums that my parents and grandparents made.

Book Reviews

I recently reviewed The Creator in You and The Royal in You by Jordan Raynor. They are children's books that encourage creativity and dispel fear of heaven. They are beautifully written and illustrated.

I read both books to Wyatt while he was sick last week. They seemed to resonate with him in a comforting way.

Jordan had a sweet incentive to preorder The Royal in You. Authors, take note!

A Musical Freebie

Remember the days when we burned CDs for our friends? Today I'm sharing a "Cinema Instrumental" playlist with you for reading, writing, and study on Spotify. These are all my favorites!

I've been curating this playlist for years while working. It's over six hours! This music helps me focus and brings Scripture or whatever I'm reading to life. The boys like to listen to it while doing schoolwork at home.

If you have Apple Music, let me know and I'll share it with you from there. Enjoy!

Thanks for reading. I'm here for you and your passion projects. Let me know if I can help with anything. I appreciate your referrals (editing, formatting, publishing).

Happy Holidays! I wanted to share a few Black Friday deals I'm seeing and a little about my recent work as well. Many of you are contributing to a cause, and that will be part of your legacy. I'm proud of you all and the work you are doing. You inspire me! In this newsletter, I - share tips on designing a logo and brochure for your...

Happy Fall, y'all (the South is rubbing off on me)! In this newsletter, I - reflect on Charlie Kirk's legacy, - share what we're doing weekly with our boys,- congratulate client Veronica Stone on her publishing deal,- recommend a podcast for writers, and- answer the question, "What is the best book you read this summer?" But first, I have to share these rainbow photos I took this year, because every time I see a rainbow, it reminds me that God is present. He's in control of all this chaos....

Microsoft Word Tips

Hello, friend. It's hard to believe Mother's Day is this weekend, graduations are about to go down, and summer is around the corner. What are you looking forward to? We plan to host family from South Carolina over Memorial Day weekend and then go to the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter with them. It will be my boys' first time at both, so I'm looking forward to that. Have you been to either attraction? If so, reply and give me all the tips! Regarding tips, do you use Microsoft Word? I...
